When attempting to add or remove a compute node in a set of horizontal scalability polybase which is a named instance using exec_sp_polybase_join_group or Sp_polybase_leave_group, the saved procedure will fail with this error:

Grant read and establish access to the following registry keys:

From a command line or from the start screen, type regedit and open the Registry Editor as Administrator.
Navigate to registry keys detailed in advance. Proceed steps three-six for each of them.
Right-click Settings-> Permissions-> Advanced-> Add> Choose a primordial-> Locations.
In locations, choose the name of the local machine.
Under "Enter the object names you want to choose," type NT Service \ MSSQL US dollars <InstanceName>. For example, if your instance name is MSSQL3, type NT Service \ MSSQL US dollars MSSQL3. Click OK.
Click on Teach Advanced Permissions, and choose the following: Ask Value, Set Value, Count Subkeys, Warn, Read Control. Click on Admit.
