Sandbox

One of the exclusive new features of VirtualDJ 8 is the Sandbox, a feature that helps you prepare your next mix while the audience continues to listen to the previous song.

When sandbox is on, you can jump to the end of the current track, and try to mix in the next track, just listening on your headphones, until you find the perfect point output and entry point where you will want to mix. After this, you can deactivate the sandbox and wait quietly for the current track to finish to start mixing.

Sampler

The new VirtualDJ 8 sampler has overcome all the limitations of the old version 7 sampler. You can now play an unlimited number of samples simultaneously. Samples can be audio, video or still images. Video samples can have alpha transparency.

The sampler is now accessible through the Sideview, where you can select any sample of benches and drag and drop directly into the slots. The samples presented themselves are in the samples folder in the browser.

The sampler also has a special bench called "remix mode", which transforms your sampler into clever cue-pads. VirtualDJ will automatically detect and fill in the remix points with the interrupts in your song, but you can edit your own course remix points.

When recording a new sample, using the REC button on the advanced mes- sage panel, or on the microphone or master rec button on the master mixer panel, VirtualDJ will store the newly created sample in the "Recordings" folder.

Sound Engine

Side view

Sample Editor

To take advantage of the power of new sampling in version 8, the sample editor lets you adjust most of the options in your audio, video, or still image samples. Your samples can now be audio, video or both (or still images), and you can easily adjust the transparency of video samples, trim audio clips, and create sample groups with specific shooting modes.

POI Editor
